Meyalah is a proud First Nations woman from Townsville, North Queensland, and a member of the Gurang, Nywaigi, and Munburra Traditional Owner Groups.
With over 20 years of experience working across Community, Employment, Youth, and Education, Meyalah is deeply committed to uplifting her people through meaningful engagement, opportunity, and cultural strength. Raised in a culturally rich and resilient community, she draws on her deep connection to Country and kin to guide her work.
Meyalah is passionate about empowering Traditional Owners to take the lead in caring for Sea Country — grounded in self-determination, cultural knowledge, and sustainable practices. Her work supports First Nations communities to overcome barriers, reclaim their role as custodians of land and sea, and ensure future generations inherit a thriving, well-cared-for Country.
