Michelle is an Eastern Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owner from Cape York Peninsula, located on the iconic Great Barrier Reef, where two world heritage listed areas and the Rainforest and Reef meet. She also identifies as a Bwgcolman woman, with deep roots and a childhood spent between Townsville and The Great Palm Island.
Michelle brings a wealth of experience in First Nations community engagement, along with strong expertise in Cultural Heritage and Land and Sea Management. Her deep cultural knowledge, lived experience, and extensive networks strengthen REEFTO’s commitment to meaningful partnerships with Traditional Owners.
With a passion for Country and culture, Michelle’s leadership will support REEFTO’s growth and enhance our work alongside Traditional Owners for the long-term care and protection of the Reef and its connected communities.
